    install question

I'd like to install 6.10. This will be a dual boot install. My question is can I just create a swap file? When I tried 6.06 I made a swap, root, and ext3 partition, everything I installed went to the root file and I soon ran out of space. If I don't make a root partition will I be running as root all the time?
I like Linux but I'm just a user.
    Thanks Scott

    Re: install question

    Hey,

This will seem basic, and I-m not trying to patronize you or something, just trying to help.
Accept Edgy's Default partioning and you will be alright ...
You really only need a swap that-s about 2/3 of you Ram and a / mount point.
Do not forget that there's no root in Ubuntu so when you're added as user /home/yourusernamehere/ will be created and that-s all you need.

Do that and enjoy kubuntu. It's really user friendly and still it packs a punch...
I hope you've installed Win already and allow Grub to manage the booting, otherwise you-ll run into troubles fast with the windows boot loader...

Have a lot of fun ...
