ati x1900xt graphics problems..

Hi guys,

I have been attempting to get my ati x1900xt graphics card to work under kubuntu 6.10, and have been having no joy.

I am running an AMD 64 bit cpu, and sure enough there are drivers available from ati.. but when I go to install it, it dies at the beginning.

Am I missing some vital steps ?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Have a great one guys/gals.

have you tried this https://help.ubuntu.com/6.06/kubuntu.../hardware.html

or

sudo apt-get install –reinstall xserver-xorg

and then restart your machine
