I have a D-Link DWL-122 USB wireless network adapter that I'd like to use with my Toshiba Satellite Pro 4200 series laptop, which I've just installed Kubuntu on. I am a complete novice when it comes to Linux. I found some information after doing a search on the subject here...

I know that Kubuntu is based in Debian but I don't know how "safe" it is to follow these instructions, and whether I need to adapt the way I follow them for Kubuntu?
Hopefully someone will read this and help me out ! So far everyone's been really helpful...
I found this

I tried it a coupla times and no joy - then noticed the suggestion to change the name from Prism2_usb to P80211 and it worked once...
I had to type the suggested into a terminal rather thanit getting noticed straight off..any ideas?
Hope this helps others.. and SORRY! I just noticed theres a seperate forum for wireless networking. Maybe an admin could move this for me?
