Need detailed, step by step instructions for installing flash 9

I'm a linux newbie and I've looked at all the instructions I could find on the web and I still can't figure out how to install flash 9 for firefox. I need a step by step(1,2,3....) guide for installing it and I dont know any unix commands so please be detailed.
Thanks

Re: Need detailed, step by step instructions for installing flash 9

Download: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer9.html

In konqueror:

Click (or double click) FP9_plugin_beta_101806.tar.gz (don't know if this is latest ?)

From readme.txt

Installation instructions
------------

* Plugin
o To install the plugin as user:
+ Copy or move libflashplayer.so into your plugins directory (usually located): ~/.mozilla/plugins
+ Create the plugins folder if it doesn't exist
o To install the plugin as root:
+ Copy or move the file into your system browser installed plugins directory (usually located): /usr/lib/<browser_directory>/plugins
+ Create the plugins folder if it doesn't exist

To me it was: /home/my_username/.mozilla/plugins/

Note
In konqueror: View->Show Hidden Files

Checking:
In the Firefox: aboutlugins ->
Shockwave Flash

File name: libflashplayer.so
Shockwave Flash 9.0 d55

If your plugins are in the /usr/lib/<browser_directory>/plugins:

Press: Alt + F2
Type: kdesu konqueror

Now you can copy/move libflashplayer.so to the right place with konqueror.
Before you edit, BACKUP !

Thanks,
Oh... powerPC.

You can't.

Flash 9 beta fot linux is only avaliable to i386. Not even 64 bits binaries.

Please, fill a bug report to adobe.

I'm Running Kubuntu 7.10 and I'm New to K/Ubuntu and Linux Commands.
I'm now trying to Install Flash Player 9 and I've followed your instructions to where I have "libflashplayer.so" in my /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/ , Now What?
Help Please.

You should go to add/remove programs and install kubuntu-restricted-extras, but when I tried to install this it got some error when installing java so the best thing is to go to Konsole and write
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-restricted-extras. I think this should work. And you don't get only flash you also get mp3, java and all divix support.
One more thing when it will start installing java it will ask you if you accept conditions just hit TAB and then Enter / return and installation will continue.
I'm magnet for errors, problems and bugs...

Thank you VERY Much
I used the Terminal Command: "sudo apt-get install kubuntu-restricted-extras" and it worked flawlessly
It could not have been easier, Thanks to You, Primoz
