    Problem with partitions.

    Hello everyone!

    Here’s the deal,

I installed Kubuntu 6.10 a few days ago, and I partitioned the hard drive (SATA 160 GB) with partition magic 8.0, this way:

    Screenshot of the partitions.

“C” is for windows XP and programs.
“D” is for files and stuff.
And well the other ones are linux-related.

But when I go to linux I can’t see the partitions of "C" and "D". Checked everywhere but it’s like they don’t even exist.

Is there a problem with the way I partitioned the HD?

Very appreciated all the help you can give me!

    Melecio.

    Re: Problem with partitions.

Any partitions and hard drives that are not used by Kubuntu are not mapped by default. Unfortunately, I'm not enough of a geek to know how to manually add them to the file system table, but I think it has to do with editing some file.

      See this page for help:
      http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Edgy

They haven't got the table of contens set up yet, about halfway down the page you will find this section:
How to mount Windows partitions (NTFS) on boot-up, and allow all users to read only
