    Where to install bootloader?

Hey, I'm using the newest version of kubuntu. The installer displays the options that will be used to install everything. I can change the location of where the bootloader is installed. The default is (hd0,0) To install to the master boot record, what do I do?

    Hi,

I guess the mbr should be hd0, do you have this choice ?

I think I worded my question wrong . What I wanted to ask was, how do I make it so that GRUB doesn't get overrided by the windows bootloader?

I don't remember if you have a choice like this in the installation.
Why don't you want it to install instead of the windows one, you will still be able to boot windows after from grub you know ?
Maybe take a look in the wiki of kubuntu, search for grub, maybe you will find a way.
The last way, you can do, is to after the install :
        - install grub to a floppy disk
        - go into windows, fix the mbr (fdisk /mbr)
        - then when you boot linux you will need the floppy, but the mbr will be the one from windows.

        Cheers
