    Cant boot from the DVD

    Hey there,

My problem is simple, or maybe not...
As the title says, I cant boot from my Kubuntu 6.10 installation dvd, I've tried a few times and it just wont work, like the installation program wouldnt run.

Any ideas (and please dont be like... have you configured your bios properly, or things like that)

    Thanks a lot

    Hi
Please check the following site it should help anwser some question.
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

Can you see would file/s are on the DVD?
If you have a file which the extension of ico on it that is you problem.
If you have several files and directories on it, it should work for you.

An ICO file is something like a ZIP flie. You need to open the ico file with a CD/DVD burning program to expand them then burn them to a disk.

    I hope this helps
    Good Luck

How fast dd you burn it? If you burned it at 8x I bet it will never work, try 2.4
