Hi,
I just installed a dual boot Win XP - Kubuntu and it worked fine... until I tried to change the screen resolution. It seems Kubuntu is not really happy with the change I tried to apply, since I cannot log in anymore, unless I chose console mode.
I tried to boot on the failsafe Kubuntu but I only have one console and a blue screen behind.
After looking on several forums, I had a look in /etc/X11. I found 3 files for xorg. conf : xorg.conf, xorg.conf.1 and xorg.conf.2.
xorg.conf and xorg.conf.2 seem identical but xorg.conf.1 is different. So, I renamed theses files to set xorg.conf.1 as xorg.conf (I thought that maybe it was a copy of the xorg.conf file I had before changing the screen resolution and that I could have my Kubuntu working again by using this file instead of the modified one).
Unfortunately, when I reboot the problem is still the same.
I really don't know what to do now. Does anyone have an idea to help me ??
