HP 1610 Does not Print Correctly w/Foreign CUPS server - Solved!

New kubuntu 6.06 install.  Print server is linux CUPS on a different server.  I installed the printer via system settings/printers gui interface.  The printer shows up and I selected hp/psc1600 hpijs which shows as recommended.  All print jobs go to the printer but it only prints:
-12345X@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=PCL3GUI with some gibberish on the second and third lines.  If I try the PSC1600 driver that does not say hpijs it gives me an error:  "Unable to load the requested driver:
Unable to create the Foomatic driver [HP-PSC_1600,hpijs]. Either that driver does not exist, or you don't have the required permissions to perform that operation."

I don't know where to go from here.

Found my own answer. Just ignored the error and pretended it found a good driver and clicked next. Worked for both the Laserjet 5 and the PSC1610. Must be a bug in the printer setup routine or drivers there somewhere.

Glad it worked out for you, did you try to install as a user or in 'Admin Mode'?
