Stupid Newbie seeking advice and answers

We've all been there, we've all been newbies at one point or another, even Maddox. I'm a newbie to Linux, and I wanted some advice and answers from some of the grizzeled veterans.

    1. I've seen a link to get a free Kubuntu CD - Is that everything I'll need to install Kubuntu on my computer? Or is it a LiveCD, or a patch of some sort?

    2. Is there a guide somewhere on partitioning a hard-drive?

    3. What would be the minimum system requirements for running Kubuntu? What would be ideal to have Kubuntu on? (To get it running with some other apps aswell, like GIMP, and OOo, etc.) (Numbers for Ubuntu, Linspire, and Freespire would be good too if someone has them)

    4. Does Kubuntu take much skill to install? Is it mostly graphical or text? How long would it take to install for someone who's only done an install once? (Alright, so I had some help when installing Win98SE..)

Thanks guys (and girls) for the help,
    Cheers,
    Joe.

Looks like there is a link. Provided that you have some type of network connection on the machine you are installing on, you should be good to go.

There are a lot of them. I think this one is pretty good:

The information is a bit dated as to the size, but you can do the math to divide up your available space. If you are using the entire HD, just accept the defaults.

Hardware specifications are a little light, but they are in the release notes.

Easy to install. A combination of graphical and text. Expect 20-30 minutes depending on the speed of your computer.

This was a welcome to the forum reply. Next time, please try the forum search and google. Good luck.

      Thank you for the links.

Google seems to be swarmed with nonsense lately.
