I downloaded and then attempted to install the madwifi driver for my Atheros wifi card. In the course of some preparatory work I noticed madwifi subdirectories to /lib/modules/2.6.15-27-386, i.e. madwifi and madwifi-ng.
Lspci shows the Atheros card (which is connecting me to the Net right now) but ifconfig and iwconfig make reference only to ath0 and do not show wlan or wifi0.
Since my compilation of the madwifi driver failed at the very beginning, the subdirectories must have been set up at the time of the Kubuntu installation.
I am new to Kubuntu. Can anyone please confiirm that and possible even tell me how to activate the madwifi driver(s) installed with Kubuntu.
