i used apt to install xlibs-dev and libqt3-mt-dev. after restarting, my screen resolution is stuck in 640x480. i cannot change it in display settings. i went to xorg.conf, but there the max resolution is 1024x768. Please help.

What card are you using? Have you tried installing the drives for it after the installation of the mentioned packages? -
