    Apt installer gone

I'm new to Linux and have stupidly (I don't know how) managed to uninstall the installer as it appears to no longer work, since I last used it to uninstall some (i thought) useless stuff.

How do I get apt back on the system without re-installing and having to setup everything again.

PS Now wondering why I have been lining Microsoft coffers for years

    THanks
    Andy

I don't think you really have managed to uninstall the package management; supposedly you've only ruined it's graphical frontend(s) ... if I'm right, the console command sudo apt-get update should still work on your system - which would mean that you can (re-) install the packages you're missing via "core" apt-get (set this manual for further details).

      You were absolutely right.

Followed your advice and apt front-end now working again. Just need to get the power management working properly on my laptop now!!

      Many thanks Birdy.
