Unable to run gnucash and other applications installed through Adept

I am new to Kubuntu, though have been using Linux for some time. I downloaded the ISO a few days back (Welcome to Kubuntu 6.06 LTS: the Dapper Drake Release) and installed on my desktop (PIV, 256 MB RAM, 6 GB Partition, Dual boot with Windows 98 SE, ATI All In Wonder TV Tuner Card).

I installed GnuCash and other softwares using Adept Package Manager. However, it is not seen in any opf the menus. Running gnucash through "Run Command" does not result in any action - no message, no GnuCash. Double clicking on gnucash executable in /usr/bin also does not result in any response.

How do I get such programmes to run. GnuCash is only one example, I have installed more such programmes and most of them are not getting executed.

(I installed the game Frozen-Bubble through same, but that is seen in Games menu and it gets executed properly.)

    Thanks
    Vikas Garud

Sometimes, newly installed apps aren't added immediately to the K Menu. You can type this command in Konsole to update it.

    Code:
    kbuildsycoca --incremental
NOTE: Ignore any error message you'd get.
