    Can Firefox replace Konqueror

as the "explorer" (ducking stones now) of Kubuntu? IE Konqueror crashes 90% of the time when I hover the mouse over a file, (mpeg, mp3). Can I configure FireFox to take over the responsibility of file browsing?

    Thanks
    Chuck

Don't think so, but of course there are other file managers you could try.

That said, IMO the other file managers can't compete with konqueror (which really shouldn't crash like that). Maybe there's a problem with the automatic file previews on your system (since it crashes when you hover on certain files), you could try changing/disabling automatic previews in konqueror settings?

Go to View -> Previews -> disable previews

There is a list there where you can choose which file types you want previews for. You could switch them all off then re-enable them one by one and see which file types cause the crash
