    How make biger refresh rate?

In "System Setings", "Display", "Screen size: 800x600", "Refresh rate: 60 Hz". And it is bigest refresh rate, that possible choose.
My video card is "Ati rage pro".
    "Ati" driver looks is instaled.
But why, I can not choose biger refresh rate?
    There my "xorg.conf" file content:
    # /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
    # values from the debconf database.
    #
    # Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page.
    # (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
    #
    # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
    # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
    # package.
    #
    # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
    # again, run the following command:
    #   sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Re: How make biger refresh rate?

Before doing any modifications, with refresh rate I suggest you do a backup & find out what are the max limits for your monitor. As if you put the Refresh Rate to high the screen will go Blank.

If it does go Blank, I sugest pressing Ctrl + Alt + (F1 or F2 or F3 etc), then the command line should appear so you can recover your system.

The lines you need to change to increase Refresh Rate are:

    HorizSync 28-51
    VertRefresh 43-60

Which can be found in the "monitor" section.

I havent done much with the Refresh Rates. But I can tell you that VertRefresh affect the Vertical(up and down) rate and the HorizSync affects the Horizontal(left to right) rate.

    Hope this helps you.
