Help me with appearance problem

I was playing around with the appearance under system settings

While doing so there was a crash.

Now when I open up system settings to undo what I did there is now no icons no text or anything in that window. Just the window.

How Can I restore this?

You could always try to install kcontrol:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kcontrol

and then, from a console, do

sudo kcontrol

This is maybe not a permament solution, but hopefully it will work until someone with more experience than me answers your thread =)
