    can you sign as root

    trying to get kppp working. typed in sudo touch /etc/resolv.config asked for password. lost can not get dailup working. alan

    The password is the same as the password you use to log in.

    If you can log in you have not lost the password.

    What kind of modem do you have? Linux and winmodems don't go well together. A serial external modem should always work.

      modem works on mepis, freespire . will not work on ubuntu .kubuntu.mepis6.0. kppp looks the same. whats happening alan

        What kind of modem is it? Is it being detected but not utilized, or is kubuntu missing it all together?
