I installed gsstreamer0.8-plugins with apt-get,and mp3 files in amaroK work now.But kaffein doesn't play my .avi and .wmv files. How can i add codecs for this type of files?
Can i install them with apt-get?
Here is a quick fix. Unlock your repositories as listed here http://www.geocities.com/bigbandit2004/tth.html
Then download xine and kaffine for xine, you can also download MPlayer to lay all your videos.
You can get the w32codecs-all package from www.mplayerhq.hu
To play DVD's in xine/kaffine you will need the libdvdcss2.deb package. Just google for it, youll find it.
MPlayer will play DVDs without libdvdcss2 I belive, just has to be compiled from source to do so.
Cheers
Joey
