problems with installation of kde on ubuntu

Hi guys,
I typed apt-get install kubuntu-desktop, and it taked like 3 hours....
I restarted my laptop but it happened nothing! Everything is like before, with gnome...what do I have to do?

you probably haven't choose KDE as your default desktop. Restart your system and when it ask you to enter your password, choose KDE as your desktop manager.

I tried to do it, but when I have to put my login there no KDE voice. That's the problem actually.
