Monitor turns off 3 minutes in

Hey guys

I'm trying the live CD, I've seen Kbuntz and I really like it, but when I tried to install, from the live cd, or when I just try to run the live cd, it all works great, then about three minutes in, the monitor turns off, like its in sleep mode or something.

Any ideas?

this looks like a case of "over-committed" power management to me ... a look at <System Settings> - <Display> - <Power Saving> should clarify this; in addition, it might prove helpful to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf as follows:

Section "Monitor"
[some stuff]
Option "DPMS" "false"
[more stuff]
EndSection

("DPMS" means "display power management system" or the like.)
