    APT

    Help,

for some reason everytime I try to use adept I get a message saying the apt database is in use by another process. Yet there is nothing else using it. Help, how do I sort this?

    Hello,

does it really claim that the DB is in use by another process? Have you tried (from Terminal) sudo apt-get update? Do you have a Broadband Connection or Flat-Rate? You know, asking me there is no automatic update system in default in Kubuntu. Do you use any update Manager that maybe runs in the Background??

      Re: APT

Usually this error is caused by Adept (or apt-get) shutting down before it was finished what it was doing. The usual solution for this is typing in this command in Konsole:

      Code:
      sudo --configure -a
that will try to continue where Adept left off and resolve the problem.

      Hope that helps.
