    can't set date as: mm/dd/yyyy

    i right click on clock/date on task bar and choose configure time and date. i choose united states as the locale but the only option for date is dD/mM/yY or DD/MM/YY. is there a .conf i can manually edit to get mM/dD/yY? thanks.

    using i386 dapper.

    Right click the clock and select "Date and Time Format"
    go to "Time & Dates"
    on the "Short date format:"
    type in MM-DD-YYYY
    Click Apply/OK and exit

    Logout and Login again to see your new settings take effect.

      MM-DD-YYYY is not available as a choice on the "short date format".....the only thing i see is DD/MM/YY and dD/mM/yY.....thanks for the reply.

        No there isn't you have to type it yourself.
        Actually while youre typing it, theres a preview that will come out on the bottom.
