    Could not mount device.
    The report error was:
    mount: can`t find /dev/hdb5 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

Problem solved using information from http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/mountwindows.php

But why this was not done automaticly when installing kubuntu?

Good question, when edgy+1 (the release after edgy) feature requests are opened, maybe you should post one. But I think it might be due to that fact that if it guesses the FS type wrongly, you could lose the data on your partition.

edit: here's the spec page, you could probably write one now: https://features.launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+specs
