Problem Installing Software

Hi,

I have recently installed kubuntu 6.06. I am not able to install any application as it is giving an error messege " No compatible C compiler found". If I used apt get also, it says package not found for all application. Please tell me how to install Gcc and other packages like kaffeine, xmms.

Maybe you need to enable the universe/muliverse repositories?
