completly clueless .exe files??

Hi, I'm dumb with computers as it is and now with this new OS i'm clueless. So far this kubuntu seems pretty cool but I have some questions - i want to run some .exe stuff that i downloaded (i.e. msn games) how do I run them I can't just open them like I did in windows so i'm clueless. I tried to do some research before posting and found out about wine but I don't really understand what wine is for, is it for executable files? Secondly, I get funny lines on my screen and the picture is sorta bumpy - doesn't look like it's my monitor but I can't imagine it could be the OS, could it?

go to http://www.winehq.com/ and check it out for more info
in the mean time do this.

open up Konsole located in the system section of the start menu type thing

then type in as followed line by line unless otherwise noted

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

ok then add the the following to the ist scrolwing down with the arrow keys

#For Ubuntu Dapper (6.06):
deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main

then press ctrl and x then and save changes

then type in the command line

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install wine

tell me how it works out for u
