I just installed Kubuntu 5.10 and I just can not hook up to the internet .I am behind a linksys router (I can get to the setup page of that by going 192.168.1.1).So I figured it was a simple matter of going to setting then network thingie then click the administrator button, but when i click the admin button,a window opens up for the password, but disappears before i can even see it to sign in as root or admin. I changed the root password already so i figure that has nothing to do with it.any help is needed,.LOL

Re: 5.10 can not get on internet
first of all you *must not* change the root password, use sudo (or sudo -s) for root access. check the link for more information https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RootSudo.
As for the not getting the administrator mode, this is a known bug. however you can edit your /etc/network/interfaces file to setup your network. make sure you also enter proper settings in /etc/resolve.conf file aswell.cheers!
