[System] Password issue

Hi there,

I forgot my password on my kubuntu 18.04. and now, I would like to change it. I understand that one way to change it is to go through recovery mode. However, my laptop (lenovo) while pressing shift does not go into grub. I used a live USB and tried to identify the sda that linux was in. I found only 2 sda's (sda1 and sda2) listed and one of them had linux on it. I tried to mount it, but it gave an error unknown file system type lvm2 member error. So I am stuck in terms of trying to change the password.

Try tapping the shift key repeatedly, and also try the esc key. Some systems jump so fast to booting that it can be hit or miss, so stabbing the key repeatedly, and rebooting until you get it. Sometimes a cold boot helps slow things down.
