    [Installation] Three essentials

Short preface - the last time I used Linux full time was back in 2004-6, on a MANDRAKE 32 bit distro.

Having just installed Kubuntu 18.04.1, I am desperately seeking succinct, step by step instructions to
[1] access windows shares and allow windoze 7/10 to access Kubuntu
_ _ equivalent to "Map network drive" - do once and forget about it
    [2] connect to/from RealVNC
_ _ can't figure out what to do next after downloading it
_ _ is there another alternative?
[3] connect to a vintage Brother HL1440 laser printer on my home network, via ethernet adapter to parallel port
_ _"the printer is not responding" (but works fine from Windoze)

I keep finding references to Ubuntu and Gnome utilities, but can't seem to find simple straightforward guides for KDE.
Examples of syntax would be helpful, too.

    And a big TIA!
    (THANKS IN ADVANCE)

    1. Install samba & cifs https://askubuntu.com/questions/9636...are-in-dolphin

    2. I recommend x11vnc or tigervnc https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VNC/Servers#x11vnc

    (I don't use kubuntu)

1/ Just include the windows disks in your fstab and they will appear in Dolphin.
2/ Google VNC, download (viewer & server?), right click and select install with Qapt.
      3/ Application Launcher>system settings>Hardware Printers>add printer.
