    "make" command not found

    kubuntu 6.06
Trying to compile first time (ndiswrapper was downloaded).
As root, tried "make" command but it isn't found.
gcc was apparently part of the install of kubuntu.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,

You should install the package build-essential first. Then you will have all you need.

Maybe you can find it on the cd, or the alternate cd.

    Cheers

      Thanks for the reply.
I have succeeded in installing build-essential in Adept
      and now "make" is there.
Now if I can get ndiswrapper (source) downloaded from their site
will try to compile it. (the 1.8 version in Adept doesnt work).

ADDED: i needed to add linux-headers appropriate for my machine.
        Build-essential did not do this.
