I recently installed Kubuntu 6.06 LTS on my 64 bit Athlon 2800+ PC. I'm unable to install kxdocker for kde. Is there any way i could compile and install 32 bit applications and codecs on 64 bit Linux. Or should I switch back to 32 bit kubuntu till there are more support and applications for the 64bit OS.

Re: Is it possible to install 32 bit applications on 64bit kubuntu
There is a lengthy thread about how to get things working on 64bit over at the Ubuntu forums:

My experience is that life is easier running 32bit Kubuntu. The advantages of installing the 64 bit version are negligible and the hassles you have to go through to make certain things work are painful - and some things I have never gotten to work at all, like playing videos that require w32codecs, or my favourite browser Opera.
