Keeping computer awake with Screen turned off.

    Hi Everyone,

I have stopped Distro-Hopping and loving Kubuntu as it has been the most stable for me. And KDE is Brilliant.

I have realised that I have done an OverKill set up on this computer, which the original intention was to be just a Workstation. And what I want to do is to extend functionality so things such as Streaming Movies and Music stored on a separate SSD via SMB to the Living room Android TV - which I have done and works great.

I also want to have Steam hosting on this computer, handshaking to the Steam Link App to play games on the Big Screen. Is there other applications similar to Steam which has an Android TV App?

The issue I am finding is that the setting under Power saving does not allow you to turn your monitor off and the computer staying awake. Is there a fix for this?

And lastly for now, do you have recommendations for bringing the best out of both the Desktop and Android TV combined?

    Thank you in advance,
    Michael

    settings > energy saving

should show a check box for screen time out and a check box for suspend.

if you don't want to suspend, just uncheck the box and only the screen will time out.

in plasma 6 it may look different, but the functionality should still be there ... choose the "do nothing" in the suspend section.
