    Virtual keyboard does not appear

Hi, my virtual keyboard does not appear and every time I log in I get this notice:

The notice links to this page:

    https://fcitx-im.org/wiki/Using_Fcit...and#KDE_Plasma

I want to follow the instructions but they aren't good and I haven't had any luck with my own research. Could anyone help me? Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all.

You can click on the "don't show again".

fcitx is not your on-screen virtual keyboard, but one for switching input methods, like for Japanese and Chinese

You want maliit-keyboard for an on-screen keyboard.

if you do need to use fcitx, you might need to use an x11 session instead of the deefualt wayland, maybe.

The fcitx folks are providing that message, and the poor documentation. I am not sure if anyone here has experience with it -- maybe Beerislife ??

Ty for the answer. I don't need to use fcitx I think I just want any virtual keyboard. How do I install maliit-keyboard? Once again there are no clear instructions :/

Update: I installed maliit-keyboard using "sudo apt-get -y install maliit-keyboard" and chose it under system settings. However, once again it does not appear in the login screen or otherwise. I tried to restart the PC and unplug the keyboard in case that would trigger the virtual keyboard.

Update 2: When I click the keyboard icon in the taskbar I get the following text:

The virtual keyboard is still not showing but maybe this is a step in the right direction.
