Grub menu gone after nvidia update

Hi all

This morning Kubuntu's (24.04.1) software centre displayed updates for the nvidia 550 driver. I duly updated and restarted only to find no grub menu.

I can hit enter and get into main OS but I'd like to have the menu back.

I ran sudo update-grub which appeared to find the entries but when I restarted there's still no menu.

Edit /etc/default/grub and change the line GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden to GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu

Close the file. In a konsole, run: sudo update-grub
