Acer Aspire One, fan seems slow, computer runs hot

Computer is Acer Aspire One AO756-2887
It seems the fan is running at a constant low or medium speed, regardless of CPU usage & temperature.
Where to start? What can I do?

Dust is probably the cause, clogging the fan blades, especially with the age of the device. The fan could be failing, or whatever temp sensor it has might also be failing, or maybe the dust could be fouling a temp sensor.

LIke Claydoh says. My wife has a similar model Acer Aspire One OD521, IIRC. A neat little 10" notebook that is perfect for her email and browsing. I keep it blown out and it runs like a champ. She's been using it for six years without a single hiccup.

Don't blow compressed air into your computer without Having a water filter and holding the fan blade. Letting the blade spin freely at higher then its operating speed is an easy way to break them.
