[Monitors] Monitor goes to sleep when watching YouTube

Having a problem when watching long YouTube videos. My monitor is going to sleep. I don't see any setting to toggle this behaviour. It's good that the monitor would sleep, but it shouldn't happen when watching a video, right? I'm watching YouTube in the Firefox flatpak app. I don't recall this happening with the previous snap installation.

External monitor, or is this a laptop? Specs of either please. And, what version of Kubuntu are you running?
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

FF *should* report to the OS/Plasma that it is playing a video, even if it isn't full-screen iirc. Not sure if this issue you see is flatpak thing or not.
I see it sometimes in the deb packages for the browser, but not when playing a movie using a video player.

But you can toggle this off/on from the battery or Power Management icon in your system tray if it is acting up.

The monitor itself has settings. Have you examined those for inactivity/sleep conditions?

I tried that, but the only thing the monitor has is an auto-off setting, which I have disabled. The issue only happens in Kubuntu, and is not happening when I boot into Windows 11. I have a dual boot system. Kubuntu just isn't recognizing that a video is playing in the browser. It sleeps the monitor, and locks the user account.

I like this functionality for normal use, but I don't want it to happen when I watch videos.

Are you using Plasma (Wayland) or Plasma (X11) when you login to the Desktop? I would see if using the 'other' has any effect.

It could be the snap release of Firefox not communicating it's status to the system properly, maybe try installing the .deb version to see if that helps. Guide below.

Running the flatpak. Problem has persisted over many updates too. I think this started in August.

I'm using x11. I tried installing wayland a while ago to use waydroid for Android emulation, but the wayland session doesn't work for me for some reason. It just boots into a black screen. I was told it might have something to do with my use of an Nvidia proprietary drivers.
