    [Utilities] 2D CAD apps?

Hello all. Linux newbie here, escaping from Windows.

I do a little "industrial design", needing just simple 2D software. I used Autosketch for a couple decades... after Autodesk stopped supporting it. Hey! It did what I needed.

The best I've found for Linux is LibreCAD, which is OK, but I'd like to find something even simpler.

    Any ideas?

    Maybe look at FreeCAD.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

      Huge overkill!

      I need CAD for dummies.

Okay. Then maybe QCAD - 2D CAD for Windows, Linux and Mac might fit your needs.

Looks good. I'll give it a spin. Thanks.

Honestly, I would even like an easy-to-use 2D layout program but I've never found one. Just be able to draw out a floor plan boundary and plan laying tile or whatever. Every one I've looked at had too much of a learning curve to be worth my time. There's an 11x15 pad of graph paper near my desk, lol.
