    Laptop+External monitor

    I just tried kubuntu (live version) today and I`m completely amazed by the fact that I could download, after 4 copy to burn it (not just copy) to a CD, it was runing well even the wifi worked with no touch! But I couldn`t get my external monitor to work with my laptop, do I need to downlad something becuse in the settings there were options for multiple monitors, exept it seemd to be "blank"...

    I have a "similar" problem...

    I have a Targa notebook with a 9 pin VGA out.

    So, with the screen on the laptop everything is ok, but, when I hook up a second LCD screen and reboot my system, it works, but it just copies my primary desktop. I'd like to have a second desktop...

    I searched around on the forums, but I can't find this problem, most have problems when using 2 cards (vga+pci) or tv-out, never 9pin vga out...

      The xinerama howto on the Ubuntu wiki only covers, ATI and nvidia display cards, but you may find some information you can use.
