Can't access imac on Kubuntu

I have Kubuntu 16.04 installed alongside Ubuntu and Linux Mint - in Mint I managed to connect with my imac OS 10.6.8 and 10.10 with no problem,to access Mac files, using the standard -mac sharing - afp I guess.
On Kubunu I can see the mac in dolphin but right clicking on it produced an empty window.
Any tips please?

What protocols are started on your imac? It is often easier to work with SMB or SFTP (I think enabling remote logon will enable SFTP)
