artfact on kubuntu desktop won't budge

    hello
I'm new to kubuntu and kde, and am in mid process of setting up the desktop the way I want it, learning along the way how configurable kde is.

In this process of setting up I inadvertantly dragged an artifact from a google webpage onto the desktop, and I can't remove it. It's a yellow square, looks like a post it note, with "sign into chrome" written on it, and a cursor appears when you click on it so you can type on it. It just sits on the desktop, it doesn't overlay anything else. I have tried changing wallpapers, right clicking on the artifact to see if there were options to delete, in my frustration I even reinstalled kubuntu and wow, it still persisted! (along with the half set up state of the bottom panel I notice)

Any suggestions in how to rid myself of this troublesome prescence will be appreciated.
I am dual booting on a 2007 dual core iMac.

Press and hold left mouse key on the notes widget, until a sidebar pops up with an X to close it?

It appears that your desktop configuration is "Folder View". Does the ~./Desktop show that Chrome link? If so, delete it from that folder.

the artifact has reponded to the first suggestion from Acheron, and has duly been removed! Thank you both for your replies.
