[SOLVED]howto disable recent file/locations function, delete recent files/locations?

I dont want the system to log any recent activity. I have found the command

sudo chattr +i ~/.local/share/recently-used.xbel

but the article was from 2013. Is that still the right command?

How can I delete the recent files list? Deleting in Dolphin deletes the file rather than just removing it from the recent folder.

Same for recent locations. How can I disable that and how can I delete that list?
