[System] apt dist-upgrade broke kubuntu. :-( (decided to uninstall sddm)

latest update broke my Kubuntu :-(
After reboot startx didn't start automatically anymore and dropped into text terminal login. Manual startx worked though.

When checking from the log what happened, it seems it removed sddm for some weird reason, because it decided it's not needed anymore??
And when I reinstalled sddm, it installed some wrong sddm theme ( sddm-theme-debian-maui ) which is ugly AF, with wrong desktop resolution, with all wrong design, with debian logo and MASSIVE onscreen keyboard I don't want nor need on my laptop.

So how can I restore the previous look? And why it decided to uninstall the sddm in the first place??

manually reinstalling sddm-theme-breeze works, but it does try to remove it with next dist-upgrade again :-(

    Abort.
also for some reason it tries to hold back a ton of different updates... why is that because of nvidia gpu?

Ok. Did that. Installed bunch of new stuff (bloat??) that I didn't have before (and never wanted -- skanlite (0 scanners here)? kdeconnect (have ios phone)??).

      Code:
      Start-Date: 2022-09-05 18:34:16
      Commandline: apt install kubuntu-desktop sddm-theme-breeze kubuntu-settings-desktop

And sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade still tries to remove those three:
      Code:
      $ sudo apt full-upgrade
      Reading package lists... Done
      Building dependency tree... Done
      Reading state information... Done
      Calculating upgrade... Done

0 to upgrade, 0 to newly install, 3 to remove and 46 not to upgrade.
After this operation, 1576 kB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n] n
I guess I have to sudo apt upgrade only when until there is a solution... to nvidia+wayland...

EDIT: apparently kubuntu-desktop was the culprit to the bloat re-installation, like skanlite and kdeconnect.

EDIT: Anyway, after uninstalling sddm-theme-debian-maui on top of that, the looks went back to normal finally :-)

Not the topic here, but btw: You can get KDE Connect from the Apple App Store and it does work with iPhones (since May '22, I think?…). I am using it with iOS 15.6.1 on my old iPhone and it is quite useful.
