Vmware Re-install

hello guys

got Vmware server running fine on my machine. But it crashed and would not run. So i decided to uninstall and the reinstall. I uninstalled fine and all the files are gone but the vmware-install.pl thingy says:

root@MooseMachine:/home/fredmoose/Desktop/vmware-server-distrib# ./vmware-install.pl
A previous installation of VMware software has been detected.

Failure

Execution aborted.

does anyone have any idea why this would happen?

Don't know why that would happen, I have reinstalled VMware server before just fine. But you can try removing the /etc/vmware/ directory and try installing again.
