Do you *need* a signed kernel? Or rather, is disabling secure boot possible or feasible?

I read a lot of stuff from the sof team now, thx but no thx! Accoustical feedback would have been nice ("Sorry Dave, i'm afraid i cant do that!"), but this is a 22.04 kernel puzzle for upstream, not worth the headache for me and my home automation project!
22.04 will most likely use 5.15 LTS or newer and 5.15 LTS means JSL code is included and they will backport this sof stuff. I'm happy with the status quo if maliit kb works.
I will start setting up Neon User with Xanmod on eMMC now and start testing some zigbee stuff. Thats the better investment of time.
If it had been for a daily driver notebook, ok. But not for an iot thing.
