Pasword dots differ when lpgging into computer and when setting email password.

My suspicion is that it doesn't matter, but since my kmail application does not function properly, I want to ask the question..

When I log into my K16.10 application, onw dot shows for each letter or symbol or numeral, but when I when kmail logs into the server each letter, numeral, or symbol is represented by three dots.

I prefer one dot only for each, but cannot find any place in "System Settings" to make that selection. Thank you for any help you may provide Shab
