    NAS Device

I recently installed Kubuntu and love it so far. IS it easy for Kubuntu to find and mount my NAS? I was messing around with Ubuntu as the Live CD but didn't like the desktop so I switched. So how easy is it so I can get my NAS discovered.?

    Thanks

What version of Kubuntu are you running?
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

The answer depends on the NAS and how you want to access it. If it's exporting via SAMBA (Windows filesharing), Dolphin should find it as a network drive. If it's using NFS, you'd have to mount it.

IMO, if you want to keep it mounted and access it all the time, NFS with a fixed mount is the way to go. If you are only going to occasionally use it, SAMBA works fine. IME, NFS is more dependable and configurable, quicker, and more secure. SAMBA is easy and and works with Windows computers so can be better if that's needed. BTW, you can also mount SAMBA to a fixed location just like NFS if desired.
