Problem logging into the ISP to receive mail.

    Kubuntu 16.04 LTS.

The following appears when I select "check mail" Kmail: Please enter the username and password foraccount ‘svollom@woh.rr.com’., You are asked because the previous login was not successful.

    Thanks! Shab

Either the name or password you put into the account settings is wrong.

That's my problem, the warning keeps coming up even though I have confirmed any correction. I have had these settings for years and no problem when I am in Kubuntu 14.04LTS. Sometimes mail comes in, sometimes it doesn't; sometimes mail sends, sometimes it doesn't.

I have been out of touch for a while. Is Kubuntu 16.04LTS riddled with problems, and are people using it?

I want to use the app, because it seems faster when I first open, but in a few minutes, it bogs down. The Launch Icon opens slowly and gradually slows more and more until it may take 5 to 10 seconds for the Favorites Application to open. With three monitors, sometimes one will not open with the others. Most of the widgets don't work properly. I thought when an LTS was released the majority of problems of a new OS were eliminated. Another problem I noticed is that when Netflix is open, the stream sometimes comes with interruptions in a regular pattern. Although the audio seems to keep accurate pace, the video is released in a stutter-like view, mouths are not always in sinc with the video.

I thought perhaps Netflix was sending the signal that way to increase band width, but when I close K16.04 and open K14.04, Kubuntu 14.04 LTS streams the same program accurately. My network monitor shows a burst of data at the beginning of a program with fixed smaller amounts of data throughout the program and no interruption in the quality of the program, but when in Kubuntu 16.04LTS, the network monitor shows a burst at the beginning of a program, but when the smaller pieces are sent, there is some sent signal then nothing sent in a very balanced pattern until the end of the program.

There are other things, but I am interested in knowing if anyone is experiencing the same as I. This should probably be another post, but I haven't the foggiest how to title it. You are such an accomplished geek, perhaps you could give a brief answer. Perhaps like in NY, fagetaboutit or just stay in K14.04LTS.

Did GOD leave anything in HIS book that mentions anything that could be construed as computer-like stuff? I don't know why you might know, but during these days it is sure a dominating feature of life. My best to you and yours, my friend. Shab

        Try this:
        sudo systemctl restart networking

        Then retry your wifi connection

I have had the same settings for about 20+ years. I have also installed Kmail many times over the years.

This morning I contacted the ISP. They entered my same data at their end with no changes, and it was fixed. I have no idea where the problem was, because no settings were changed at all; they were just reinstalled by their technician. I have never experienced this problem before. Strange. Sorry to use your valued time. Shab

Because I have never changed my settings, I also checked my laptop which I haven't used in a while. It had the same problems. Finally, I contacted the ISP, this morning, their technician entered the selfsame settings for me at their end and the problem was cured. It must have been a glitch at the ISP. Thanks my friend Shab
