I've recently installed latest version 16.04 of Kubuntu. My network icon on system tray when clicked shows a window which doesn't have any options of enabling wifi. There is a Airplane mode button but wifi button is missing and no wifi networks are detected. I can't access wifi through kubuntu. Please help me on this issue.

The information gathered in the report created by the konsole input in my cited post will aid those here in FKN who are more familiar with networking issues to identify and hopefully resolving your issue.Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
