Very Difficlut Connecting to the ISP

    Ref version 16.04.1

I am finding it very diffult to connect to the internet, often not possible. Yet, when I use another OS (say, Ubuntu 12.10 from a pendrive) the connection is almost instant and does not break. Hence, it is not a problem with the ISP (same time frame).

Is there a problem with the Service Network Manager in 16.04.1?

What is the solution to the problem.
    kubuntu version: 16.04.5 LTS

    We need some information. Run
    lspci
in a Konsole and paste the output in your response.

Copy the following: lsmod | grep 80211

Paste it in a konsole and copy/paste the output in your reply.

I can't connect using kubuntu 16.04.1 at present, so the data that I am posting was obtained when using ubuntu 12.10 from a pendrive - if it matters

          ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ lsmod | grep 80211
          mac80211 461161 2 rt2x00pci,rt2x00lib
          cfg80211 175375 2 rt2x00lib,mac80211

            Suggestions from other groups include:

            ipv6 disabled - current state
power management off - not the current state.

            in etc/avahi, edit #domain-name-local to #domain-name=.alocal

            Then:

            in /default/

            AVAHI_DAEMON_DETECT_LOCAL=1, to AVAHI_DAEMON_DETECT_LOCAL=0

I think that editing any line with a # in it will have no effect

            Any comments on the above
