Howto view video stream from my webcam in a browser ?

Hi,

I am trying to view the video stream from my webcam, but the browser (firefox and chrome) do no show any video.
Is there some plugin missing or anything else ?
The attached file shows what I get in the browser.
I can pan/tilt the camera via the browser screen, but no video (not in mjpg mode, nor in mpg4 mode)

In order to view it in windows, I need to install the quicktime plugin

does anyone has experience with this cam on linux ?

I can view videos from you tube and http://trailers.apple.com/


When I look at a protcol trace with Wireshark, I see that the cam is telling the browser it will use quicktime (see attached screenshot)

try installing the VLC plugin for firefox ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

sudo apt install browser-plugin-vlc

Thx for thinking along.

browser-plugin-vlc is already installed, do I need to activate something in chrome or firefox ?
I saw no vlc plugins or extensions in either browser, so I installed a couple of them without luck.
